Largest Event to Date!

Updated: Apr 16, 2018

The most recent Dare to Share event had an unbelievable outcome. Tuscaloosa Civinettes brought in clothes, books, kitchen supplies, household items, and more! DTS had planned to bring the donations to Tuscaloosa's Salvation Army Thrift Store. However, the Civinettes were so generous with their donations, that the 1,645 items had to be distributed to four different donation centers.

Tuscaloosa Civinettes rock for setting a great example to Tuscaloosa.

First Stop: The Boyd School. The Boyd Schoo, Inc. is a private agency designed to teach academic and behavioral skills to boys needing moderate to basic residential childcare. Their mission is "to enable each resident to be able to thrive in a permanent home environment by teaching acceptable behaviors and coping skills." I was able to donate 86 lbs of boys clothes to the Boyd School.

Second Stop: The Bargain Box in Demopolis, AL. We donated 10 albs of sewing fabric, 179 lbs of clothes, and 63 pounds of books!

Third Stop: Harland Drug Company. We donated all stuffed animals to Harland Drugs in Moundville, AL. These animals will be distributed as a warm gift to young patients in Alabama hospitals.

Final Stop: The Salavation Army Thrift Store. The mission of the Salvation Army of Tuscaloosa is to exercise strong business/ relationships, administrative support and or pastoral care in Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa counties. The donations will be sold in the Thift Store to help support the organization. DTS donated hundreds of lbs of clothes, towels, kitchen supplies, bedding, books, movies, and more!

Thank you, Civinettes!
